Job Summary
Provide patient care in the Medical Telemetry unit at Mercy Hospital Southeast, Cape Girardeau, MO, utilizing the nursing process to maintain professional accountability for assigned patients. Evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers and coordinate patient care with other departments while ensuring patient rights and confidentiality are maintained. Perform duties consistent with Mercy Service Standards, including pushing, pulling, and lifting 50 pounds on a regular basis, along with prolonged standing and walking. Requires at least one year of nursing experience and a current RN license.
Required Qualifications
- At least 1 year of nursing experience
- Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN)
- Current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure meeting all state board of nursing requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- Availability for 12-hr Nights shifts
- Availability for Scheduled Weekends
- Part-time commitment of 24 hours/week
