Job Summary
Community Support Worker (CSW) in SE Calgary provides support to adults with disabilities, helping clients develop independence through daily living skills, community inclusion, and goal-directed activities per Individual Support Plans. Responsibilities include establishing professional boundaries, assisting with ISP-goal monitoring, coordinating with guardians and client supports, completing timely paperwork (timesheets, expenses, client summaries, hazard and incident reports), adhering to health and safety policies, maintaining required certifications, and upholding confidentiality while engaging with community resources. Must have post-secondary education in Human Services, First Aid/CPR, a Vulnerable Sector Police Check, and a valid driver’s license; vehicle assets considered.
Required Qualifications
- Post secondary education in Human Services
- A current Basic First Aid/Emergency First Aid certification that includes CPR/AED
- A current Police Information Check with a Vulnerable Sectors Search that is satisfactory to CASS
- A vehicle and valid driver’s license are considered assets
- Caregivers Act compliance and Alberta employment standards
