Job Summary
Design, develop, and maintain scalable automated test frameworks for front-end and back-end applications using Python, Java, or Node.js. Execute test scenarios via Gherkin and BDD methodologies while integrating quality gates into CI/CD pipelines and validating distributed systems like Kafka and AWS services. Collaborate with developers and stakeholders throughout the SDLC to identify and resolve quality issues, manage defects in Jira, and monitor performance using SonarQube and Datadog. Mentor team members and contribute to continuous improvement of automation strategies within an Agile environment.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in SDET, Software Engineering, SRE, Quality Engineering, or related roles
- Strong hands-on experience in automated and unit testing of front-end and back-end applications and services
- Proficiency in at least one programming language: Python, Java, or Node.js/JavaScript
- Strong understanding of OOP, software design principles, and scalable automation architecture
- Experience working in Agile or Lean software development environments
- Hands-on experience with Git, Jira, Confluence, and standard SDLC practices
- Strong coding and debugging skills with an ability to build maintainable automation solutions
- Experience with production development using Python, Flask, Django, React, or Node.js
- Strong backend development experience using Python or Java
- Experience building and deploying applications on AWS
- Exposure to Kafka, Amazon SQS, or Kinesis and distributed system testing
- Proficiency in Gherkin and BDD-based automation
- Strong understanding of CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, containers, and distributed systems
- Excellent analytical, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities
- A strong sense of ownership with the ability to drive quality across the entire software development lifecycle
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Spinnaker
- Familiarity with SonarQube, Grafana, and Datadog for code quality, monitoring, and observability
