Job Summary

Plan and lead scuba programs across Semester, Summer Term, Deep Creek Middle School, and Partnership Programs, certifying students in PADI Open Water courses. Manage the Island School PADI e-learning system by distributing codes, verifying completion, and processing certifications. Create interdisciplinary connections between diving and student learning outcomes while inspecting, repairing, and servicing regulators, BCDs, cylinders, and compressors. Assist in daily dive operations, including lifting heavy gear and working long hours in tropical conditions, and uphold risk management for all activities. Contribute to campus community functions such as farm work, dish crew, and wet lab duties. Work closely with the Scuba Manager to oversee operations, integrating sustainability, sense of place, and intentional community into immersive learning experiences.

Required Qualifications

  • A current PADI Scuba Instructor certification
  • Captains License, minimum RYA Powerboat Level 2
  • Wilderness First Responder (WFR) Certification
  • Experience working in an active dive operation
  • Experience in operating boats of various sizes
  • Knowledge of tropical marine ecosystems
  • Proficient computer skills, especially using Google-suite & Microsoft Office
