SCTRN - Specialty Care Transport Nurse

Job Summary
Transport patients to appointments, hospitals, schools, and facilities while maintaining their safety and well-being during transit. Perform resuscitation, manage airways, and utilize IV pumps, ventilators, and monitoring devices as necessary. Conduct systematic patient examinations, obtain histories, and accompany patients to receiving facilities, providing verbal reports to healthcare personnel. Ensure all ALS equipment is stocked, inspect vehicles for damage, and complete daily pre- and post-trip inspections. Maintain vehicle cleanliness, secure restraints, and adhere to strict safety protocols while driving. Report all incidents to dispatch and complete necessary patient care reports and authorizations.
Required Qualifications
- 1:1PT RATIO MUST HAVE EMT CERT WITHIN 90 DAYS OF HIRE
- Overnight
- Hiring for nights, overnights and weekends
- Must successfully complete the company's orientation and training
- Must submit to and successfully pass State criminal history review, and drug and alcohol testing program
- Position requires Logisticare approval as a condition of employment
- Must have a mimimum of 2 years experience working in ICU, CCU or ED
- Valid NJ RN License
- one year of critical care experience
- HCP CPR
- ACLS
- PALS
- Valid NJ Driver License in good standing
- EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) within 6 months of hire
- Will need to complete Defensive Driving Course
- PPD - 2 Step
- other vaccinations required by Facility
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to clients, facility representatives, and other employees of organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Ability to read maps and navigate directions
