Job Summary
Lead, train, and coach agile teams in their adoption of Scrum practices, establishing Scrum as defined in the Scrum Guide and ensuring the Scrum Team’s effectiveness. Responsible for enabling continuous improvement within the Scrum framework, removing impediments, ensuring Scrum events occur productively, and guiding stakeholders and the Product Owner on effective backlog and empirical planning. Scope includes coaching other Scrum Masters, scaling Scrum across teams, advising leadership on agile strategy, and fostering high-performing team dynamics and continuous flow. Requires strong facilitation, communication, and tooling skills (Jira, Confluence, Miro/Mural, Teams/Zoom). Salary range advertised: $116,000–$174,000 annually; comprehensive benefits; Northbrook, IL location; full-time role.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field
- Minimum 5 years direct Scrum Master experience
- Experience delivering features on a product/software team
- Knowledge of agile & Scrum principles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Facilitation skills for teams and workshops
- Experience with Jira or similar ALM tools
- Experience with collaboration tools (Microsoft Teams/Zoom, Confluence, Miro/Mural)
- Ability to learn and apply new technologies
- Ability to lead in stressful situations
- Experience scaling agile practices (SAFe, LeSS, Scrum@Scale)
- Preferred: Scrum Master Certification (CSM, PSM, SASM/SSM)
Desired Qualifications
- Scrum Master Certification (CSM, PSM, SAFe Scrum Master/Advanced Scrum Master)
- At least 5 years of direct work experience as a Scrum Master
- Experience delivering features on a product/software team
- Strong knowledge of agile and scrum values and principles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, written, synchronous, asynchronous)
- Facilitation skills for teams and larger group events/workshops
- Experience with Agile Lifecycle Management tools (e.g. Jira)
- Experience configuring/contributing to collaboration tools (Microsoft Teams/Zoom, Confluence, Miro/Mural)
- Ability to learn, understand, and apply new technologies
- Ability to lead and facilitate teams under pressure
- Experience scaling agile practices (SAFe, LeSS, Scrum@Scale)
- Coach certification (e.g., SAFe SPC, Scrum Alliance CTC/CEC) is a plus
- ALM tool certification (e.g., Jira Admin)
- Experience focusing on enterprise-level agile strategy
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
