Job Summary
Scrum Master facilitates Agile/Scrum ceremonies to maximize collaboration, leads team grooming (breakdown of work, estimation, story points, acceptance criteria, definition of done), guides SAFe ceremonies (sprint planning, sprint review, demos, sprint retro, PI planning), removes impediments, and shares team metrics. Works with Product Owners to develop User Stories that meet feature acceptance criteria; mentors the team on Agile principles, and coordinates with government partners and stakeholders to ensure transparency and progress. Requires experience coaching teams in Agile/Scrum, familiarity with SAFe, and ability to communicate effectively with Product Owners and Software Developers; proficiency with agile tools (e.g., Jira, VersionOne, Rally, IBM RTC) and DoD compliance. Optional/desired: Agile certification and ongoing security clearance readiness.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and an active Secret DoD security clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related field; 8-12 years of related experience (will consider work experience in lieu of a degree)
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM), SAFe Scrum Master (SSM) or PMI-ACP or similar agile project management certification
- At least 5 years of experience working as a Scrum Master or Team Lead for a software development or similar technical team
- Experience with agile project management tools (e.g. Jira, VersionOne, Rally, IBM RTC)
- DoD 8570 approved security certification (will be required 90 days after hire)
- Strong communication with Product Owners and Software Developers
- Knowledge of Agile Development methodologies
- Ability to identify efficiencies and process improvements between development and testing
- Experience with version control systems (e.g. Git, SVN)
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint)
- Able to engage with government partners as product owners and stakeholders
