Scrum Manager - Engine Controls

Job Summary

Serve as the customer voice for the scrum team, managing the backlog and collaborating with the Scrum Leader to foster constructive collaboration and shared accountability. Create, refine, and prioritize the team backlog while accepting or rejecting work results at Sprint Review meetings. Translate product strategy into User Stories, defining acceptance criteria and sequencing for Program Increment Planning events. Coordinate dependencies with other teams, align with stakeholders, and ensure technical integrity by addressing anomalies and quality concerns timely. Participate in Program Increment Planning, Retrospectives, and ART sessions to drive continuous improvement and ensure stories meet Definition of Done standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in one of the following disciplines: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics
  • 5+ years of experience in controls system development
  • Control system integration and testing of hardware and software
  • Controller hardware design and failure modes of electronic modules
  • Vehicle electrical systems and serial data communications architectures
  • System, software, and hardware requirements development and validation
  • Change management
  • High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult
  • Demonstrated proficiency in project management skills
  • Experienced at planning, preparing for and leading meetings
  • Effective interpersonal skills that focus and influence others, including those which may have priority differences with yours
  • Understanding of Embedded Controls Development & Delivery Process
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects and assignments with autonomy and accountability for results
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship management skills to effectively collaborate with varying levels of the organization as needed
  • Strong partnership and teamwork skills, with demonstrated ability to learn from and share knowledge with co-workers in a fast-paced environment
  • High level of integrity, ability to deal with ambiguity, take initiative/self-directed
  • Consistent demonstration of innovative thinking that is customer-centric
  • Experience with C/C++/Python and MATLAB/Simulink modeling
  • Must be able to report to Milford, Michigan three times per week, at minimum

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a field of Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics
  • 8+ years of experience in Engine or Transmission Controls and Software development
  • Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) training or certifications
  • Experience in the GM component specification and release process
  • Experience with customer interface technologies
  • Knowledge of vehicle dynamics and electronic chassis systems
  • Knowledge of OBD-II diagnostics
  • Knowledge of automotive safety integrity levels (ASIL)
  • DFSS Black Belt certification
