Job Summary
Prepare and maintain sterile operating rooms, instruments, equipment, and supplies while anticipating the needs of the surgical team. Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies, and perform instrument, sponge, and needle counts with the circulating nurse. Maintain sterile technique and infection prevention standards, ensuring surgical equipment functions properly and reporting any issues. Clean, restock, and prepare operating rooms between procedures, and handle and label surgical specimens according to established protocols. Work full-time days with call coverage, reporting to a respected healthcare organization in Russellville, AL.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
- Current BLS certification or ability to obtain
- Knowledge of sterile technique, aseptic practices, and infection prevention
- Ability to prepare, maintain, and troubleshoot surgical instruments and equipment
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
- Ability to remain calm and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to participate in on-call coverage as needed
