Job Summary
Scrub Technician with ophthalmic experience to join Mann Eye Surgery Center. Prepare equipment and operating room for surgical procedures, assist the surgeon and circulating nurse, and manage operating room turnover. Requires 2+ years of surgical technician experience, ophthalmic background, and BLS certification. Experience with folding Intraocular Lenses (IOLs), folding 3-Piece Lenses, anterior Vitrectomies, Catalys Femto 2nd Laser, and ORA system is preferred. Must demonstrate strong communication, organization, self-motivation, and adherence to aseptic/sterile technique. Supports safety and quality initiatives and maintains professional relationships with physicians and staff.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of hands on surgical technician experience
- Strong Ophthalmic background (preferred)
- Experience with folding Intraocular Lenses (IOL’s)
- Experience with folding 3-Piece Lenses
- Experience with anterior Vitrectomy’s
- Experience with the Catalys Femto 2nd Laser
- Experience with the ORA system
- BLS certification
- Graduate from school of surgical technology, LPN program, RN program, or completion of a military training program that includes surgical technology skills
- Basic skills related to aseptic/sterile technique and knowledge of surgical instrumentation (preferred)
- Experience in ophthalmology
