Job Summary
Prepare operating rooms and set up sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies according to procedure requirements. Maintain strict sterile technique throughout surgeries, anticipate team needs, and pass instruments and supplies to the surgeon. Assist with accurate counts of instruments, sponges, needles, and other supplies, while handling, cleaning, and maintaining surgical instruments. Follow infection control, safety, and facility policies to maintain an organized, adequately stocked operating room. Collaborate with nurses, physicians, anesthesia personnel, and other surgical team members to ensure safe, efficient, and well-organized procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Surgical Scrub Technician/Surgical Technologist
- Strong understanding of sterile technique and surgical procedures
- Knowledge of surgical instruments and equipment
- Ability to anticipate the needs of the surgical team
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Dependable, professional, and committed to patient safety
- Must be available for a four-day, 32-hour workweek, Monday through Thursday
- Must be able to work 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
- Must be willing to work 32 hours per week
