Job Summary
Scribe and ophthalmic technician providing clinical support during ophthalmology exams, performing pre-test procedures and imaging (including OCT, fundus photography, slit-lamp photography, visual fields), documenting provider-patient encounters in real time within the EHR, assisting with exams and minor in-office procedures, administering ophthalmic drops, and coordinating workflow across clinic sites while ensuring HIPAA and safety compliance.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of one (1) year of prior ophthalmic technician or medical scribe experience required
- Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical documentation practices preferred
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and computer applications
- Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA), Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT), or Ophthalmic Scribe Certified (OSC) preferred but not required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-site environment
- Must travel between assigned clinic locations as needed
- Maintains confidentiality of all patient, employee, and company information
