Job Summary
Scribe supports a physician by documenting medical records in real time using EPIC EMR and PACS, transcribes details of the physical exam and chart elements, assimilates lab and imaging results, records consultations with family or other physicians, reminds the physician of data updates, documents procedures, assists with referrals and pre-billing reviews, and helps ensure complete patient workups. Requires an Associate's degree or equivalent and 1-2 years of healthcare experience, along with strong typing, interpersonal, and medical-terminology skills. Part-time daytime position in Blacksburg, VA, with a focus on accurate, timely documentation and collaboration within the care team.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent required
- 1-2 years of experience working with the public in a healthcare setting required
- Familiar with medical terminology required
- Excellent PC, typing and interpersonal and verbal communication skills required
