Job Summary
The Scribe supports patient care through comprehensive documentation alongside a physician or physician extender in a gastroenterology clinic. Key responsibilities include real-time documentation of patient encounters, verification and reporting of patient history, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Candidates must possess a high school diploma and have 1-2 years of relevant healthcare experience. Preferred qualifications include experience as a medical scribe and relevant certifications. Strong communication skills and the ability to multitask effectively are essential.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in healthcare setting, with general clinical competence in acute patient care, customer service experience in a healthcare setting
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, multitask effectively during patient encounters, accurately document physician dictation and patient communication
Desired Qualifications
- Medical scribe, documentation, gastroenterology and/or specialty practice experience
- Medical assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or CCMA) and/or completion of medical assistant program from accredited institution strongly preferred
- Medical scribe training or certification and/or healthcare-related training or coursework
