Job Summary
The Screening Plant & Crusher Operator will operate and monitor portable crushing and screening equipment, perform setup, adjustments, and basic troubleshooting of the plant on active job sites, and safely feed material into the plant using a loader. The role involves routine equipment inspections, completing daily logs and documentation, basic maintenance of plant and equipment, and general labour duties including shoveling around belts and conveyors. Travel with the portable plant to various job sites across Elora, Kitchener, and Waterloo, contributing to safe, efficient, and consistent production while adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies. The position is seasonal and outdoors with extended 10-to-12-hour shifts during peak periods, requiring flexibility and the ability to work in varying weather conditions. Strong communication with supervisors and crew members is essential for coordinating daily work and addressing issues.
Required Qualifications
- Proven hands-on experience operating crushing and/or screening equipment in a construction, aggregates, or materials environment
- Valid G driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability and willingness to travel with the portable plant and work at various job sites
- Ability to work extended hours, including 10-to-12-hour shifts during peak season
- Comfortable performing physically demanding work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions
