Job Summary
Oversee daily operations of a non-ferrous scrap yard, including purchasing, grading, processing, shipping, and inventory control; lead, train, and develop yard personnel in a hands-on, production-driven environment; maintain efficient material flow across inbound, processing, and outbound functions; operate and oversee equipment including forklifts, balers, skid steers, and other yard machinery; monitor market pricing to support purchasing decisions; coordinate outbound shipments with logistics providers and downstream consumers; enforce safety and environmental standards in a high-traffic industrial setting.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in a non-ferrous scrap recycling environment (scrap yard setting required)
- Strong, hands-on experience with non-ferrous metal grading and purchasing (copper, aluminum, brass, stainless, insulated wire)
- Proven ability to operate heavy equipment (forklifts, balers, skid steers/bobcats) in an industrial setting
- Leadership experience supervising employees in a high-volume yard or production environment
