Job Summary
Vehicle Scrap Technician responsible for preparing scrap vehicles for the monthly crush, including draining fluids, removing tires, wheels, and batteries (including crating of batteries when necessary), breaking down tires from rims, operating a forklift and conducting daily inspections. Requires a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, being at least 21 to drive company vehicles at Milford Proving Grounds, mechanical aptitude, independence, reliability as a team player, and forklift certification or willingness to obtain it. This role involves exposure to fumes, chemicals, and automotive liquids in a shop and outdoor environment with potential extreme temperatures, and physical work including standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 40 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Must be at least 21 years of age to drive company vehicles at Milford Proving Grounds
- Must be mechanically inclined
- Must be a self-starter and able to work independently
- Must be a reliable team player
- Must be forklift certified or willing to acquire certification
