Job Summary
Field-based Scrap Buyer responsible for developing supplier relationships, purchasing ferrous and non-ferrous scrap materials, negotiating pricing and contracts, and growing volume across industrial accounts in the South Carolina region. Must manage supplier and customer relationships, conduct site visits, coordinate with operations and logistics, monitor market trends, and maintain accurate pipeline and pricing activity. Requires ability to travel throughout the assigned territory, represent the company professionally in the recycling and commodities market, and drive supplier development and new business opportunities in collaboration with industrial accounts, scrap dealers, manufacturers, demolition contractors, and recycling suppliers.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of outside sales, account management, business development, commodity purchasing, or industrial sales experience
- Experience selling or purchasing high-value industrial, equipment, automotive, manufacturing, construction, or commodity-related products
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills
- Experience developing business through prospecting, customer visits, and account management activities
- Ability to travel throughout the assigned regional territory
