Job Summary
Lead the Scoutcraft program area by supervising staff, instructing Scouts (ages 11-17) in outdoor merit badges, and managing logistics for instruction and materials. Present to groups of 5-20 youth to transfer knowledge, while assisting with setup, maintenance, and takedown of camping areas. Model the Scout Oath and Law, participate in camp-wide activities like campfires, and maintain a clean, safe work environment. Perform additional duties assigned by leadership and adhere to staff handbook policies. Requires standing and hiking up to 8 hours daily with a 55+ hour summer schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age: 21+
- Successfully complete and obtain Outdoor Skills section of National Camping School
- Willing to become a registered Scouting America member
- Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communication
- Ability to stand, walk, and hike, up to 8 hours daily
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds
- Complete the Annual Health and Medical Record, including height/weight guidelines
- Housing: 10'x12' platform tent in Staff Camp
- Uniform: Summit Staff Uniform
- Work Hours: 55+

- Previous leadership, Scouting/Summit experience
- Strong organizational skills
- Knowledge of Scouting/outdoor skills, including knots/lashings, camping, cooking, and first aid
