Job Summary
Manage enterprise connectivity, functionality, and security for Integrated Systems Networks by maintaining components across cloud, corporate, and secure environments. Conduct methodical troubleshooting for routing protocols, VLANs, and persistent MACs while designing and operating hybrid network architectures. Apply Python scripting and Ansible to automate routine tasks, ensuring reliable, compliant, and high-performance connectivity for SOCOM SOCRATES networks at MacDill AFB. Support geographically distributed organizations with multiple sites and remote users in regulated environments, including up to 25% CONUS/OCONUS travel.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship
- TS/SCI Clearance
- 4-8+ years of experience in network engineering, infrastructure engineering, or cloud networking
- Experience designing and operating enterprise network architectures across hybrid environments
- Hands-on experience with cloud networking
- Experience supporting geographically distributed organizations with multiple sites and remote users
- Experience working in regulated environments
- Experience with Network technologies: routing, switching, VPN, SD-WAN, firewall configuration
- Experience with Cloud networking: Azure virtual networks, ExpressRoute, private endpoints
- Experience with Security: Zero Trust architecture, segmentation, encryption standards
- Experience with Monitoring and troubleshooting tools for network performance and availability
- Solid understanding of BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, hot and cold sites, Cloud, and on prem network infrastructure characteristics, drawbacks, and benefits
- Moving beyond simple fixes to methodical troubleshooting
- Chasing VLANs, finding persistent MACs
- Identifying issues with routing protocols
- Understanding and troubleshooting application issues that may or may not be caused by network failure
- VXLAN, OTV, Spanning tree, and understanding the basic fundamentals of switching and aggregation
- Knowledge of IBGP, EBGP, EIGRP, RIP, and OSPF
- Working experience with service provider routers
- Working knowledge of IKE, IKEv2, IPSEC and MACSEC
- Knowledge of firewalls, security appliances, VPNs, and integration with cloud connectivity
- Understanding of CSFC and the differentiation between the connectivity packages
- Basic Python scripting and Ansible to automate routine tasks

Desired Qualifications

- Attained industry recognized certifications such as CCNP, CCNA or some subset of those certifications (Cisco routing and switching, for example)
