Job Summary
Manage assigned drivers by ensuring DOT compliance, CTPAT operations, and equipment usage while enforcing company policies and discipline. Coordinate driver training, administer Hours of Service and log reviews, and monitor KPIs and productivity goals. Conduct regular Ride-Alongs to capture data on performance, safety checks, route optimization, and customer service. Assist in incident and accident investigations, maintain Driver Qualification Files, and oversee attendance records and time-off requests. Participate in hiring processes and manage performance review systems. Submit payroll efficiently and resolve distribution issues. Carry out supervisory responsibilities including training, appraising, rewarding, and disciplining truck drivers.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in management, transportation or a related field
- Associates Degree
- Three to five years experience in management
- Five years transportation experience
- Experience in dispatch
- Experience in tractor fleet maintenance
- CDL Driving
- transportation safety
- strong interpersonal skills
- good communication skills both written and oral
- ability to manage multiple tasks and projects
- excellent personal computer skills
- working knowledge of Microsoft Office products software i.e.; Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Extensive knowledge in Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and CTPAT
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to communicate effectively using the telephone, Fax, E-mail etc.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
- Ability to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Class A CDL
- no more than 2 points on CDL
- Occasional travel
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in management, transportation or a related field is preferred
- Experience in TMW and Peoplenet or similar
