Job Summary
Manage procurement and inventory strategies by analyzing sales data against customer forecasts to ensure alignment with operational objectives. Drive partnerships with customer accounts by communicating business processes, buying procedures, and needs to recommend specific products and solutions. Prepare periodic reports ranging from weekly to ad-hoc as required, while researching data trends and developing information on new projects. Resolve customer complaints by investigating problem sources and following to resolution, utilizing critical thinking to analyze and solve issues with data from customers, suppliers, and internal sources. Develop supply solutions for low-stock and overstock items to improve inventory performance, working with cross-functional teams to maximize customer service and efficiency. Handle confidential vendor cost and financial information while maintaining strict confidentiality. Requires 5 years of related experience; 20-50% travel to meet customers.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (General Education Degree)
- five years' experience in working in a related business environment
- Ability to learn MRC Global-specific software
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality (specifically regarding department, contracts, and original cost of material)
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrated Proficiency with and accuracy in using MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- May require 20% - 50% travel
Desired Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Supply Chain or related field
- Inside or outside sales experience
