Job Summary

Operate state-of-the-art TEM, STEM, SAED, EDS, and EELS instrumentation to collect data and generate high-quality analysis reports for clients. Develop custom analysis protocols and engage directly with customers to solve complex materials and semiconductor challenges. Partner with team members to deliver accurate, timely results that drive critical client decisions across the product lifecycle. Shifts run 5pm to 2am, Tuesdays through Saturdays, or Sundays through Thursdays, with shift differentials applied. Requires a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering with three years of hands-on TEM experience.

Required Qualifications

  • PhD in Materials Science and Engineering or related field
  • 3yrs+ hands-on experience in TEM analysis characterizing a variety of materials
  • Excellent understanding of the operations and principles of TEM tools
  • Expert background in electron microscopy, including TEM/STEM, SAED, 4D-STEM, EDS and EELS
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and presentation)
  • Ability to continuously operate a personal computer or lab equipment for extended periods of time (4 or more hours)
  • Ability to operate a keyboard and other lab equipment, use a telephone, access file cabinets and other items stored at various levels, including overhead
  • Ability to communicate clearly and understandably ensure an accurate exchange of information in normal conversational distance, over the telephone, and in a group setting
  • Ability to handle small and fragile devices with tweezers and /or fingers
  • Require close distance visual acuity with or without correction (Glasses, Contacts, etc.)
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 80% of the time
  • Must be available for 5pm-2am, Tuesdays to Saturdays OR Sundays to Thursdays
  • Shift differential will apply

Desired Qualifications

  • Familiarity with FEI and JEOL electron microscope tools
  • Experience with semiconductor chip products and wafer samples
