Job Summary
Scientist, Study Management performing routine procedures in small and/or large animal species in a CRO setting with adherence to USDA, FDA, DEA, and IACUC guidelines. Tasks include sedation and recovery, blood collection, IV dosing, body weights, vitals, blood processing, sample shipment, veterinary treatments, and rodent colony management (genotyping, tagging, weaning). Administrative duties cover expiration checks, data scanning, records filing, and preparing samples. Documentation must follow 21 CFR Part 58 under GLP/MED study conditions. On-site full-time role at Discovery Labs; requires immunizations and occupational health steps; weekend/holiday/overtime rotation; strong regulatory compliance, communication, and organizational skills; ability to collaborate across disciplines and use digital communication tools.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or AALAS certification
- 1-3 years of direct experience in lab animal science preferred (minimum 5 years required)
- Experience with large and/or small animal species
- AALAS Accreditation required if personnel do not hold associates degree
