Job Summary
Scientist role focused on quantitative and qualitative mass spectrometry analyses using LC/MS systems, contributing to biomarker discovery and method development. Responsibilities include sample preparation for diverse biological matrices, performing and interpreting mass spectrometry analyses, developing and validating discovery and quantitative methods (including PK assays for biologics and biosimilars), data analysis and reporting, designing troubleshooting experiments, proposing new sample processing approaches, and training Research Associates. The role requires GLP compliance, independent and collaborative work, and potential supervision of projects; may involve working in a BSL-2 environment. Educational qualifications include an M.Sc. or PhD in life sciences, chemistry, or biochemistry (or equivalent).
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
- Solid understanding of mass spectrometry
- Experience with automation systems and affinity purification protocols is an asset
- Must be capable of working in a Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) environment
- M.Sc. or PhD in life sciences, chemistry, or biochemistry (or equivalent)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to prepare project reports and client presentations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative research team
- Capability to supervise specific projects is an asset
- May require working in a BSL-2 environment
