Job Summary
Conduct fragrance extraction from consumer products using diverse techniques and run GC/MS for profiling and raw material characterization. Maintain high-throughput analytical workflows and robotic systems to accelerate data generation, providing large uniform data sets for building correlations and actionable insights. Support AI-driven fragrance design by delivering structured data and drive automation strategies to enhance efficiency and reproducibility. Contribute to IP development and present findings to cross-functional teams. This on-site role in Tlalnepantla, Mexico, requires a Master's degree with 7+ years in analytical chemistry to solve complex challenges and foster an innovation-driven culture within IFF's global fragrance portfolio.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Analytical Chemistry or closely related scientific field
- Minimum 7 years in analytical chemistry within fragrance, consumer goods, biotech, pharma, or related industries
- Proven ability to design experiments and solve complex analytical challenges
- Hands-on experience with GC/MS operation and troubleshooting
- Strong knowledge of fragrance composition, essential oils, aroma chemicals, and specialty bases
- Familiarity with automation, robotics, and high-throughput analytical systems
- Advanced data processing, interpretation, and management capabilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- The Senior Scientist role is based in Tlalnepantla, Mexico (on site role)
Desired Qualifications
- PhD
- Strong expertise in analytical chemistry (Master's or PhD), ideally gained in the fragrance industry
- Previous experience supporting fragrance or sensory-related analytical projects
