Job Summary
Scientist II at Werfen performs a broad range of laboratory work in R&D, applying professional judgment to select specialized methods and techniques for tasks in hemostasis, acute care diagnostics, transfusion, autoimmunity, and transplant research. Responsibilities include executing expanded lab procedures, communicating progress to supervisors and colleagues, presenting results to senior staff, selecting experimental methods and defining protocols, scheduling tasks, identifying deviations and modifying protocols as needed, authoring specialized laboratory procedures, compiling and interpreting data, and preparing graphs, papers, and technical summaries. Requires strong attention to detail, collaboration with R&D, Quality, and Operations, and the ability to work independently on projects with modest guidance; proficiency in basic software tools and familiarity with design control processes and quality standards. Travel may be sporadic. Education and experience align with a bachelor’s degree in biological or related sciences and four years of industry experience; Spanish/Catalan fluency and English proficiency are requested.”,
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in biological or related sciences
- Four years of scientific/in vitro diagnostic industry experience
- Fluent in Spanish or Catalan; advanced English (reading, speaking, writing)
- Knowledge of SAP; experience with Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Ability to operate laboratory equipment and understand quality standards
- Experience with laboratory data recording and documentation practices
- Ability to design and interpret experiments; strong scientific communication
