Job Summary

Develop and optimize new analytical methods and techniques to generate reliable, reproducible data for early-phase drug discovery candidates. Conduct research and development studies on small-molecule drug products, active pharmaceutical ingredients, and impurity profiling using chromatography and spectroscopic techniques. Collaborate with cross-functional partners in Pre-Clinical Safety, Process Chemistry, and Quality Assurance to advance projects through the development pipeline. Formulate conclusions and design follow-on experiments based on multidisciplinary data, then process and visualize results to facilitate project team decisions. Support new product development with method validation and technical transfer packages while maintaining GxP compliance. Work autonomously with minimal supervision to improve existing laboratory methods and processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or equivalent education, with typically 7 or more years' experience
  • Master's Degree or equivalent education, with typically 5 or more years' experience
  • Strong technical background in analytical chemistry
  • Excellent analytical problem-solving skills
  • Capable of developing and troubleshooting analytical methods with minimal guidance
  • Well versed with hands-on experience with chromatography (HPLC, UPLC, GC)
  • Well versed with hands-on experience with spectroscopic techniques
  • Expert knowledge of Waters Empower CDS
  • Experience with SLIMS (or similar LIMS systems) for electronic data management
  • Experience in the use of computerized data handling systems
  • High-quality written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to interact effectively with interdisciplinary scientists and engineers
  • Practical knowledge of organic structure, functional groups, chemistry, and modern spectroscopic techniques as applied to small-molecule analytical analysis
