Job Summary
Design and execute oligonucleotide synthesis and purification workflows while performing HPLC and mass spectrometry analysis for characterization and impurity profiling. Develop and scale up synthesis of lead oligonucleotide candidates for preclinical studies, supporting RNAi and nucleic acid therapeutic discovery across neuroscience, immunology, and oncology programs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate chemistry and biology data, maintain lab equipment, and conduct literature reviews to contribute to experimental design and strategy. This role is part of the Nucleic Acid Design and Discovery team at a biotechnology leader in gene therapy, offering a long-term contract with an extension possibility.
Required Qualifications
- BS/MS in Organic Chemistry or related field
- Hands-on experience with oligonucleotide synthesis, purification, and characterization
- Experience with automated oligo synthesizers, HPLC, and mass spectrometry
Desired Qualifications
- Understanding of RNAi, nucleic acid therapeutics, and modification chemistries preferred
- Industry experience in biotech/pharma R&D is a plus
