Scientist, II

Scientist, II at AbbVie independently designs, executes, and interprets critical experiments to address project questions and scope; develops and optimizes new methods/techniques, reads literature to implement improvements, and mentors others. Responsibilities include operating HPLC and Capillary Electrophoresis instrumentation, performing AKTA-based purifications and protein purification, executing lab-scale filtrations including Tangential Flow Filtration, coordinating sample shipping and external testing, preparing buffers with accurate manufacturing documentation, and contributing to publications, presentations, and patents. The role requires managing laboratory equipment lifecycle, coordinating with cross-functional teams, meeting aggressive project timelines, and delivering high-quality data to inform manufacturing operations. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Sciences with 7+ years of experience or a Master's degree in Sciences with 5+ years of experience, plus demonstrated ability to design, execute, and interpret experiments, learn new techniques, multitask, and adapt to manufacturing pressures.
