Job Summary
Scientist I - Innovation will lead the development of new ingredients and technologies for seasoning, driving concept ideation, investigating and assessing new ingredients, and collaborating with cross-functional teams for technology development. The role involves designing and leading the long-term innovation program for the group to meet customers' mid- to long-term needs, maintaining depth in food science and seasoning product development, and communicating findings to senior technical leadership. Responsibilities include overseeing product and process development to support seasoning product development, guiding technology transfer with regional R&D, and managing projects with independent decisions on technical program planning, project management, and assessment of customer needs. A minimum of a BS/MS (Ph.D. preferred) in Food Science/Technology or Chemistry with at least 3 years of postgraduate experience in product/ingredient/flavor development is required, along with strong experimental design, presentation skills, and ownership of projects. Bi-lingual and/or global work experience is a plus; McCormick does not sponsor employment visas. Base salary range is $63,250 to $110,680, with eligibility for incentive bonuses and total rewards programs.
