Job Summary
Cryo-EM Scientist role at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (Fischer Lab) in Boston. Independently plan and perform purification strategies for recombinant proteins and complexes from insect, mammalian, or bacterial cells; perform cryo-EM structure determination and support multiple small molecule discovery projects. Lead biochemistry and structural biology efforts, train lab members in sample preparation for cryo-EM and negative stain, and handle data processing. Document experiments thoroughly, present findings as needed, and contribute to publications. Requires PhD in biochemistry/structural biology or related field with at least 2 years postdoctoral experience and strong cryo-EM experience; proficiency with recombinant protein expression/purification and biophysical characterization; excellent communication skills; demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Required Qualifications
- PhD in biochemistry, structural biology or a related discipline with at least 2 years of relevant postdoctoral experience
- Experience in experimental and computational cryo-EM techniques
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Proven track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment
- Experience with protein biochemistry, purification and biophysical characterization
- Experience expressing recombinant proteins in bacterial, insect and/or mammalian cells
- Experience purifying recombinant proteins and protein complexes
