Scientist - Global Pathogen Safety (Biologics / Plasma)

Job Summary
Provide technical and execution support for pathogen safety topics, including control strategies for viruses and prions. Collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders to contribute scientific insights and recommendations for risk assessments, deviation evaluations, and contamination control strategies. Prepare and review pathogen safety documentation, technical reports, and audit materials while supporting R&D lifecycle management projects through virus validation study design and Quality by Design elements. Conduct literature research to summarize regulatory developments and write SOPs, work instructions, and training materials. Execute activities in a global environment across time zones aligned with project forums and governance frameworks.
Required Qualifications
- Master's or PhD degree in Life Sciences (e.g. Virology, Biochemistry, Biology, or related field)
- 3–5 years of experience in R&D, Quality, or a related function within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry
- Strong scientific and analytical expertise in virology, biochemistry and/or microbiology
- Ability to independently analyze and solve complex scientific problems
- Sound knowledge of pathogen safety principles in biologics
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Flexibility to participate in global meetings across time zones
Desired Qualifications
- Ideally prior GxP experience, e.g. with deviation and change assessments
- German is an advantage
