Job Summary
Design and execute in vitro and ex vivo assays to evaluate siRNA delivery and function, while developing human primary cell-based systems for target validation and mechanism-of-action studies. Establish and optimize Flow cytometry panels, qPCR, and RNA-based readouts to support IND-enabling studies and data packages. Prepare technical reports, summaries, and protocols, then present study results at team meetings. Assist in maintaining lab equipment, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring safety protocols are adhered to. This role supports cross-functional collaboration with Delivery/chemistry, Translational, and biomarker teams within Amgen's erythroid biology program focused on siRNA therapeutics.
Required Qualifications
- Doctorate degree
- Master's degree and 2 years scientific experience
- Bachelor's degree and 4 years scientific experience
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with siRNA / RNA therapeutics (delivery or functional assays)
- Erythroid biology and hematopoiesis
- Strong background in Flow cytometry (multi-color)
- Cell-based functional assays
- Familiarity with gene expression (qPCR, RNA assays)

- Experience working in cross-functional drug discovery teams
- Knowledge on Hemoglobinopathies
