Job Summary
Lead and develop electrical power systems for aircraft integration, including load analysis, facilities documentation, and vendor coordination. Provide guidance, coaching, and training to junior employees while ensuring programs stay on schedule and within budget. Prepare engineering drawings and coordinate design activities with Systems Engineering, Manufacturing, and Production to meet requirements at minimum cost. Influence wide audiences to win support without a direct reporting structure. This role supports ISR and Special Mission Programs within the Aeronautical Systems Engineering team. Candidates must be able to travel internationally and work in aircraft hangar environments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree and minimum 12 years of prior relevant aircraft design experience
- Graduate Degree and a minimum of 9 years of prior related aircraft design experience
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 15 years of prior related experience
- Familiarity with FAA (Part 23 or 25) or military aircraft airworthiness design approach, certification process, and requirements
- Advanced knowledge and skills using ECAD tools
- Progressive understanding of power systems and various mission systems
- Must be able to travel international to support field modifications
- Be able to travel to and from the flight line, work in aircraft hangar environment and board/exit aircraft is required
Desired Qualifications
- Ten (10) years of aircraft design related experience in defense aerospace industry
- Outstanding communication (both verbally and written), negotiation, collaboration, time management, presentation, and organizational skills
- Experience developing secondary power distribution systems, performing wire deration calculations, and familiarity with aircraft power systems standards like MIL-STD-704
- Results-oriented, empowering leader with direct experience excelling in a matrixed environment
- Experience in electrical design using Siemens NX or Capital
