Job Summary
Execute enzymatic and mechanical dissociation of solid tumor tissues into single-cell suspensions, optimizing protocols to preserve cell viability and heterogeneity. Isolate specific cell populations via magnetic bead sorting or flow cytometry, and establish and maintain cultures of primary tumor and normal cells. Monitor cell health, passage stocks, and cryopreserve PBMCs from patient and healthy donor blood samples. Extract RNA and DNA for analysis while customizing media formulations to support long-term viability. Prioritize workloads, coordinate scientific streams, and analyze experimental results to communicate findings to the team and management. Maintain good laboratory practices, including accurate notebook systems, instrument maintenance, and safety precautions.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree with relevant experience or PhD in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Cancer Biology, or a related life science field
- 1+ year of laboratory experience in a cancer biology or tissue culture setting, ideally in industry or translational research
- Proficiency in cell-based assays and molecular biology techniques
- Strong attention to detail and ability to troubleshoot and optimize protocols
- Excellent teamwork, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to adapt to multiple roles in a matrixed, fast-paced and evolving company
- Ability to follow and write protocols and SOPs
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a laboratory environment
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with dissociation of tissue samples into single-cell suspensions would be advantageous
