Job Summary
Scientific Support Physicist, Senior role focusing on defense analytical requirements and advanced physics applications. Responsible for conducting independent research, modeling, and generating actionable, ICD-compliant written products; coordinating with allied engineering disciplines on areas such as fiber optics, acoustics, semiconductors, lasers, and testing to characterize hard and deeply buried targets. The position involves preparing documented findings, briefings, and technical write-ups, leveraging expertise in applied fields such as astrophysics, biophysics, directed energy weapons, or geophysics, and applying all-source analytic methods to nuclear-related programs and infrastructure. Candidates will have a strong track record of producing high-quality tailored deliverables, adapting to evolving mission requirements, and collaborating across mission partners. Must hold an active TS/SCI clearance (willingness to take a polygraph) and possess a Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of intelligence experience (or 12+ years in lieu of a degree). Desired experience includes countering missiles and delivery systems, data analytics, and a background in Nuclear/Engineering disciplines; proficient in using SIGINT, GEOINT, OSINT, and HUMINT data sets, with capability to communicate findings through formal or informal briefings.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of experience with intelligence, or 12+ years of experience with intelligence in lieu of a degree
- Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam
- Experience conducting all-source analytic production on nuclear programs, including production facilities, stockpiles, logistics, systems employment, security, and vulnerabilities of facilities and stockpiles
- Experience with all-source analysis production, including analytic tradecraft, ICD 203 and 206, and DIA writing style
- Knowledge of nuclear weapons programs, including nuclear weapons effects, nuclear fuel cycle, and nuclear infrastructure
- Knowledge of applying and querying SIGINT, GEOINT, OSINT, and HUMINT data sets and databases
- Ability to independently develop high-quality tailored deliverables, including actionable leads, ICD-compliant written products, network charts, and formal or informal briefings
- Ability to adjust to changing mission requirements and deliver products within a short time frame
- Ability to collaborate with other mission partners on production and take lead briefing at unique events
