Job Summary
Senior Scientific Analyst on the MELA team responsible for evaluating export license applications, commodity jurisdiction requests, and voluntary disclosures; prepares recommended responses for the Air Force to provide to DTSA; analyzes ITAR/EAR compliance, CJ determinations, and unauthorized exports; maintains knowledge of ITAR (22 CFR Parts 120-130) and EAR (15 CFR Parts 730-774); drafts clear, concise case summaries with justified recommendations; collaborates with Air Force personnel and support contractors; complies with security requirements to protect sensitive information; telework-eligible with in-person meetings 4 days per week; located in Washington, DC; requires Active Secret Clearance and advanced technical degree; 10 years of defense/export regulation experience.
Required Qualifications
- Active Secret Clearance
- Master's degree in Science, Engineering, or relevant technical discipline
- 10 years of experience in defense acquisitions planning, or interpreting & implementing federal export regulations
- Strong writing and analysis capabilities
