Job Summary

Conduct peer-to-peer scientific exchanges with external experts and decision makers in Germany to enhance understanding of setmelanotide's value in rare genetic diseases of obesity. Map patient journeys, establish local genetic testing initiatives, and support clinical trial execution by triaging pressure points and identifying referral sites. Develop and implement the local medical affairs plan, review scientific communication materials for compliance, and facilitate non-promotional presentations to address HCP knowledge gaps. Collaborate cross-functionally with Global Clinical Development, Marketing, and Regulatory teams to drive trial enrollment and advance the Medical Affairs Plan.

Required Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in a pharmaceutical, scientific, or medical field (PharmD, PhD, MD)
  • Fluent in verbal and written English
  • Demonstrates superior communication skills and scientific acumen when presenting clinical, disease state information to a variety of audiences
  • Fluent in local language for Germany
  • Demonstrates knowledge of regional/local specific healthcare systems, the evolving medical landscape, reimbursement and industry trends

Desired Qualifications

  • 8 or more years' experience within a Medical Science Liaison or similar field facing role with primary emphasis on field based scientific exchange within biopharmaceutical/rare disease area strongly preferred
  • Relevant pharmaceutical and clinical/therapeutic experience also a consideration
