Job Summary
Scientific Advisor for PHAD in Basel, Switzerland. Elevate scientific standards by fostering a unified scientific mindset and rigorous innovation in collaboration with partners in NCE, TRD and beyond. Ensure PHAD has scientific capabilities to deliver its portfolio and be prepared for future needs. Promote systematic knowledge sharing within TRD, NCE and PHAD; implement and evaluate impact of internal and external scientific trends on development initiatives and guidelines. Facilitate connections between scientific advancements and project applications, provide input for innovation strategies, and participate in science and innovation forums. Establish scientific standards and governance, oversee risk management, assess new technologies and data science programs, and sponsor activities to maintain scientific excellence. Represent the Novartis culture, mentor junior associates, participate in GENESIS lab activities, and collaborate with external academia and industry partners. Support knowledge management, coordinate organization-wide scientific networks, and engage with academia and industry to drive collaboration and learning.
Required Qualifications
- PhD degree in technical or scientific area
- Languages: English spoken and written mandatory
- Minimum of 20 years of experience within the drug product development industry
- Thought leader of the drug development process incl. process commercialization and regulatory strategy
- A proven track record in leading and engaging people in a multicultural, global environment
- Proven ability to create and establish strategy and vision in organizations
- Strong network with academia and scientific circles
