Job Summary
Science Writer role focused on translating public health data and research into clear, engaging messaging for broad audiences. Collaborates with researchers and analysts to tell coherent stories using data, develops talking points and content for multiple audiences including the media, creates written and visual messaging, and uses PowerPoint and Excel to generate graphs and charts. Bilingual Spanish is a plus. The role involves handling sensitive information and office perks include a dog-friendly environment and competitive benefits.
Required Qualifications
- MPH or equivalent education/experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in public health communication
- Advanced understanding of public health data and research
- Significant experience with interpreting epidemiologic and scientific information and translation into written and visual messaging for broad audiences
- Excellent written communication skills
- Experience writing talking points for multiple audiences, including the media
- Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Excel, including creating and formatting graphs and charts
