Job Summary
Conduct one-on-one science instruction for students in grades K–12, focusing on life, earth, physical, and test preparation science. Help learners develop conceptual understanding, scientific reasoning, and problem-solving skills through clear explanations and hands-on experiments. Identify foundational knowledge gaps and align sessions with personalized academic roadmaps using SiSTEM's planning tools. Communicate progress and strategy with families while maintaining high standards of preparation. Matched to students based on specific subject expertise and learning needs rather than random availability.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of teaching, tutoring, or academic mentoring experience in science
- Deep expertise in at least one of the science subjects listed above
- Experience working with motivated students who are in honors, Pre-AP, AP, gifted, or test prep settings
- A track record of helping students improve grades, build confidence, or master concepts they previously struggled with
- Clear, patient communication and the ability to make science click for students who think they're 'not a science person'
- Professional reliability
