Job Summary
Conduct one-on-one science instruction for students in grades K–12, focusing on developing conceptual understanding, scientific reasoning, and problem-solving skills rather than rote memorization. Deliver lessons in life, earth, physical, and test preparation science while identifying foundational knowledge gaps and aligning sessions with personalized academic roadmaps. Communicate progress and strategy with families to support student confidence and academic growth.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of teaching, tutoring, or academic mentoring experience in science
- Deep expertise in at least one of the science subjects listed above
- Experience working with motivated students who are in honors, Pre-AP, AP, gifted, or test prep settings
- A track record of helping students improve grades, build confidence, or master concepts they previously struggled with
- Clear, patient communication and the ability to make science click for students who think they're 'not a science person'
- Professional reliability
