Job Summary
Conduct one-on-one science instruction for students in grades K–12, focusing on building conceptual understanding rather than rote memorization. Deliver targeted support in life, earth, physical, and test preparation science, while guiding research design, lab reports, and STEM competition preparation. Identify foundational knowledge gaps and align sessions with student academic roadmaps using SiSTEM's planning tools. Communicate progress and strategy with families to ensure consistent engagement.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of teaching, tutoring, or academic mentoring experience in science
- Deep expertise in at least one of the science subjects listed above
- Experience working with motivated students who are in honors, Pre-AP, AP, gifted, or test prep settings
- A track record of helping students improve grades, build confidence, or master concepts they previously struggled with
- Clear, patient communication and the ability to make science click for students who think they're 'not a science person'
- Professional reliability
Desired Qualifications
