Job Summary
Conduct one-on-one science instruction for students in grades K–12, focusing on conceptual understanding rather than rote memorization. Develop scientific reasoning, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills through clear explanations, real-world connections, and structured practice. Identify gaps in foundational knowledge and align sessions with each student's broader academic roadmap using SiSTEM's planning tools. Communicate progress and strategy with families while maintaining high standards of preparation and professionalism. Work with students across elementary, middle, high school, and advanced levels including AP, IB, and test prep subjects.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of teaching, tutoring, or academic mentoring experience in science
- Deep expertise in at least one of the science subjects listed above
- Experience working with motivated students who are in honors, Pre-AP, AP, gifted, or test prep settings
- A track record of helping students improve grades, build confidence, or master concepts they previously struggled with
- Clear, patient communication and the ability to make science click for students who think they're 'not a science person'
- Professional reliability
Desired Qualifications

- educators with degrees in biology, chemistry, physics, or science education
