Job Summary
Science Tutor positions involve supporting students in science disciplines including General Biology and/or Chemistry and/or Anatomy & Physiology, assisting with personalized learning strategies to enhance comprehension and academic skills. Tutors must possess a thorough understanding of their subject area, hold an Associate degree or higher, and maintain a grade of B or higher in relevant courses. Strong communication and analytical skills, along with the ability to work with a diverse student population, are essential. Tutors will receive CRLA training and are expected to obtain certification within a year.
Required Qualifications
- Thorough understanding of the subject(s) that they will tutor
- An Associate degree or above in the discipline or a related field from a regionally accredited institution
- A grade of B or above in each course the candidate intends to tutor
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Patience and a genuine desire to help others learn and succeed
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience as a peer or professional tutor is a plus but not required
- Interest in working with a diverse population of students
