Job Summary
Plan a program of study meeting individual student needs and prepare lessons reflecting accommodations for diverse learners. Create a conducive classroom environment, establish clear objectives, and employ varied instructional techniques consistent with district philosophy. Assess student accomplishments regularly, maintain accurate records, and refer students for evaluation as required. Develop classroom behavior rules, supervise teacher aides and volunteers, and participate in staff development and committee work. Prepare and submit lesson plans and grades in school platforms, maintain professional competence, and establish open communication lines with students, parents, and the community.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Meet Texas 'highly qualified' standards
- Texas Teacher Certificate
- Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms with all levels of management, both internal and external to the campus
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both internal and external to the district
- Ability to use computers including software, database used by the district, spreadsheet and word processing software, calculator, copy machine, and telephone
- Ability to use effective interview techniques, effective public speaking skills, and problem-solving skills
- Moderate travel is required
