Job Summary
Conduct science instruction using effective instructional strategies and classroom management techniques while ensuring student safety and monitoring child growth and development. Deliver oral and written communication to students, staff, administration, and the community using proper grammar and vocabulary. Utilize electronic equipment for data management, information retrieval, and visual or audio presentations to support research-based learning assessments.
Required Qualifications
- New Jersey Instructional certificate in accordance with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 18A:27.1 et seq., and N.J.A.C. Title 6 Chapter 11 with a Science endorsement and other appropriate endorsement(s) for the position held
- Valid driver's license with no serious violations
- Knowledge of NJSLS for Science, specifically Chemistry or Physics
- Computer literacy and the ability to use electronic equipment data management, information retrieval, visual and audio presentations, and telecommunications
- Excellent experience in teaching and working with students in the field of science, unless entering teaching from an alternative certification program
- Excellent interpersonal skills, integrity, and good moral character and initiative
- Knowledge and understanding of the concepts of science, safety, child growth and development, effective instructional strategies, classroom management, learning assessment and diagnosis, and research related to learning
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, with students, staff, administration, and the community, using proper grammar and vocabulary
- Proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status by completing Federal Form 1-9 in compliance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986
- Evidence that a criminal record history check has been conducted and clearance has been given by the Department of Education
- Sworn statement during the initial six-month period that the individual has not been convicted of a crime or a disorderly persons offense in accordance with L 8A:6-7. l.
