Job Summary
Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill district curriculum requirements while presenting subject matter according to Texas Education Agency guidelines. Conduct ongoing assessments of student learning styles and achievement through formal and informal testing to adjust instructional activities. Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and create a classroom environment conducive to physical, social, and emotional development. Establish open communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, principals, and teachers, and maintain professional relationships with colleagues and community members. Compile, maintain, and file all required reports and records, and participate in faculty meetings and staff committees as required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- Knowledge of core academic subject assigned
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- At least one year student teaching or approved internship
