Job Summary
Science Teacher will support instructional services provided to scholars within a secure facility, delivering multi-course science instruction (Biology, Earth Science, Environmental Science, Chemistry, and/or Anatomy & Physiology) with adaptable lesson planning and timely grading. Responsibilities include facilitating multi-grade, multi-content coursework, maintaining a positive, structured learning environment using restorative practices, collaborating with colleagues and facility staff, ensuring compliance with organizational, facility, district, and federal regulations, and preparing reports (lesson plans, assessments, progress reports, gradebook) on time. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in education or a subject field and eligibility for OSSE initial certification within 1 year; experience with opportunity or justice-involved youth is preferred. Salary is in the DC area as a salaried, full-time position.
